Ok, i need help A.S.A.P with my ipod!!!!!

I got an 80 gb ipod classic about a week or 2 ago and its been working great. i also got the best case in the store which also came with a screen protector. today i was using my ipod, and set it down on my desk, and there wasn't anything near it that could have harmed it. I've been extremely careful with my ipod cuz i didn't want it broken. when i came back later and tried to turn it on, it wouldn't! I connected it to my computer and went to itunes, and it didn't think it was plugged in! Does anybody have ANY idea on fixing it? Hopefully I get an answer soon. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

unplug your ipod from the usb cord then press menu and the center buttons at the same time until the apple appears.

reset the ipod. turn the hold switch on and off. then hold the menu and select (center) button down till it restarts
