i live in california. i have mon and tues off from work so i'm heading down to new orleans for a party. well on a house boat b/c new orleans will be under water by this time tomm nite. i want to party like a rock star. i sure hope there is some thing to bring back to california that isnt wet or damaged from the water

People have been having hurricane parties for many many years.  It's very common.  If you are going to ride it out, there is very little to do for 24-48 hours, so why not host a party?  Most of the homes that are damaged are from poor designs (not up to hurricane codes) or from the odd tornado.  Most people's homes survive with minor damage.

Oh boy! You sure are not in the hurricane path or you would not be asking this.  Hundreds of people will lose their homes, and you are planning to celebrate.  The world is going nuts!
