Ok, in my house i have a desktop computer, and a laptop, i want to be able to connect my laptop wirelessly.?

My laptop has built in wireless internet, so im getting a wireless just for my laptop, is that the right thing to do. If so would i have to plug my wireless router up near my desktops router? I wanna have the connection in my room please help. My email is lyon_fool@yahoo.com

  1. What you need to do is replace the router you now have with a wireless one.  Most wireless routers have 4 wired ports built into them

    For an example see: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/...

    Put this router in place of the other one plug the desk top into one of the wired ports and your laptop can be used wireless anywhere in the house.


  2. Put your wireless router near the desktop for two reasons.

    1)That is where your Internet is

    2)You can plug the desktop into the back of the router.

    The wireless can be accessed from anywhere in the house.

  3. As Jerry above said, replace the routers. I have worked with two in line routers before I figured out the difference between a router and a switch hub, but this gives no advantage for the regular user and is an added hassle you don't need at all. For most user, just stick with one router.
