I'm 14 turning 15 and when i was in 4th grade i had retainers. And there was this sharpish blade on the part where the retainer connected to my teeth. I remember cutting my tongue on it. And it was sometime then that i got these few dark brown dots on the tip of my tongue to the left side. I still have them, but now i can't be sure it it was the cut that gave me the dots. I don't have them anywhere else. It's only this tiny part of my tongue. Could it be from a burn or from biting my tongue? Because i do tend to bit my tongue to the left side. It doesn't hurt or anything, it never has. I've been to the dentist loads of times but he never said that there was anything wrong, but at the same time i never asked him if there was anything wrong with my tongue. It's been like 5-6 years since i had it. Should i be worried now?

Yeah i read that oral cancers start out with patches/dots on the tongue. Kinda freaked...=/

And no i don't smoke and i have brushed my and cleaned my mouth.

  1. dont panic, oral cancers dont wait 6 years to grow in size, its a trauma from tongue bite, caled haematoma, means collection of blood under the surface of a tissue, it starts as red, then blue,  then brown, if the tongue is frequent, it will be there for a long time

  2. personally, i don't really know. but i had retainers. and i kinda doubt they can do that to you.
