  1. Is he l*****g his paws?  Does he go outdoors in the grass?  I have heard of dogs that are "allergic" to grass.  Also, if your grass has been treated for weeds or bugs, or fertilized, his feet may be itching so he licks them to clean and relieve itching.  I would ask the vet.  I agree with the poster who said to have the hair between his toes clipped for a start then see what happens.

  2. It sounds like he has a yeast infection in his paws. Dogs can have yeast infections in their, ears, in their leg (arm, lol) pits and paws. You need to take him to the vet and be checked.

  3. Maybe take him to the groomer and have the hair in between his toes trimmed.

  4. I heard that that is a normal thing for them to smell.  Our dog doesn't l**k them a lot so I don't think that it is her breath or the grass.  I do agree to wipe them down with perfume free wipes.  Actually Petsmart has doggy paw wipes specifically for it.

  5. Get some "All Free" (Free of Perfume and Dyes) Baby Wipes and use them to wipe his paws daily.

  6. Unless he's running around in garbage or a poopy back yard , they shouldn't smell.

  7. Usually, a bad odor is an indicator that there is an infection or bacteria.

just like if your dog's breath smells, it is an indicator that he has bacteria in his mouth and you need to brush his teeth.

same for a dogs' ears.  they will smell if they need to be cleaned.

so...there is obviously something going on in his paw.  is he itchy\l*****g them?  try smushing some cortisone cream in between the pads... but beware ... the pressure points in a dog's paw pads are EXTREMELY sensitive and they have been know to react agressively if uncomfortable with it. (just like they would bark at you if you pulled their tail...)

if it doesn't go away.. you should really take him to the vet.  they can give him some pills to take that might calm down the rash or infection that he has.

the other poster was making a good point when pointing out that there are some dogs that are allergic to grass...and you might have chemicals on your lawn or in the street that are bothering him!!!

    good luck!

    all the best :)
