I am 15. I was planning my April's Fool prank in advance. I was thinking I could set it up by acting really weird and talking about pregnancy a lot two weeks in advance. Then, on April's Fools Day, walk up to my mom and rush, "Mom, I'm pregnant." But I've been having second thoughts. Is this too cruel? I don't want to give my mom an aneurysm and I also don't want to make it too gross. what do you think, moms?

  1. I'm not a mom, but, that's a bit much.  Not cruel, necessarily, but a bit much.  If you do go through with it, duck after you tell her.

  2. Yes, this is too cruel, and it's not funny.  Never ever joke about life and death - people might accuse you of "crying wolf" when you really do need urgent help.

A good prank needs to be funny - not just you laughing at someone else's discomfort or pain.  It needs to be witty or ironic or bizarre or epic.  And you should be willing to clean up the mess yourself.

Back to the drawing board.  How about, while she's out, you switch rooms on her?  Move all her clothes and belongings and bedspread into your room, and vice versa.  Then when she walks into her room she'll be incredibly confused, wondering if she walked into the wrong room.  Sort of a Freaky Friday switch.  Something like that is big and bizarre, without hurting anyone.

  3. You are obviously a very immature 15, otherwise you wouldn't even have to ask that question.  It is a childish prank at best.

  4. To me April Fools need to be funny. As a mother I can't see the funny, maybe I'm missing something.

  5. I really don't think I'd laugh at this one.  The topic is too serious to joke about.

  6. The only thing gross will be the red welts on your f***y, which your friends will get a kick out of.  Suggest you think of something different.

  7. lol  She's going to kill you!  I think it's funny!  If you have the balls to go through with that!  She might kill you and be mad...but then she'l be so relieved, the only thing left is to laugh!

  8. well...being a mom I think it's pushing it with the two weeks, a couple days in advance is going to be long enough. I know cuz my daughter pulled that one on me. Anyway...it's kinda funny and she will be so relieved that I don't think she'll be to mad. Hope Im right anyway, Good luck if you do it.
