  1. try adding dry food to the wet food then little by .little  take out the wet food and only give the dry food she should make the switch ok

  2. try the same brand and get their kitten chow, then add water to it and give it to her. my kittens started out on wetten dry cat food and over the time we stopped adding water, now they eat their dried cat food.

if that doesnt work then go talk to your vet, they'll have suggestions and things that will help.

EDIT: DO NOT give your kitten milk, that will mess up their digestive track more, any vet will tell you (as they told me) NO milk for cats. if you want to give the kitten milk go to the store and buy cat milk replacement/suppliment . . . NOT dairy milk

  3. Try soaking the chow in water, tuna water (the water from a tin of tuna) or milk.

Then reduce the soaking time slowly and the amount of liquid in the chow.

I know how you feel, my cats were the same now i can feed wet or dry.

  4. you better be strict

  5. My cat is similar. She can't eat dry food alone. Thats why I mix 1 or 2 spoonfulls of wet food, so it meets her desire for wet food, and yet your nutritional intake that I think she should take is their. You should try it. Make sure that if it doesn't work, don't give too much wet food, and if she continues to make a mess, you should get some other wet food that she could enjoy.

After all, cats are carnivores, and the dry food we give her is not all meat related, it has some wheat in it, too. It just gives her the extra balance of food she needs/can take.

So, all cats eat meat, and to her, she could eat 2 pounds of that stuff, but it's not good if she only has wet food, and too much. She should be provided at least some dry food mixed with the wet. Make sure to provide fresh cold water!

    HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

  6. Kitten chow is the suckiest food on the planet. Nothing but grains grains and more grains. Yuck. That looks like diabetes waiting to happen. Canned food is way better for their oral health because it doesn't get stuck inbetween their teeth like kibble does.

Also it has to be quality food too. I reccomend the Wellness brand which you can find at petco.

  7. Your cat only wants wet food because that is what nature intended her to eat.

Cats were never meant to eat dry food, also known as cereals or kibble. We, humans, make them eat it for convenience to us. It has nothing to do with them or their nutritional needs. It's completely species inappropriate.

All small domestic cats descended from desert cats. In the wild, desert cats derive their entire liquid intake from their prey. They do not have a thirst mechanism because they don't need it when eating a species appropriate diet. They get all they need from what they eat. Additionally water was usually not available to them in their desert climate. So they do not often drink water. Regular ol' house cats have descended from those same wild desert cats.

So in a home environment, your kitty does not get the moisture it needs from dry food and it’s almost always in a constant state of dehydration. Water fountains are encouraged to TRY to get your cat to drink more and your kitty may even enjoy it, but it will never meet its water intake needs drinking from a bowl.

Deadly feline illnesses such as diabetes, kidney failure, obesity, allergies, Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD), bladder stones, kidney stones,  urinary tract blockages and Urinary Tract Infections (FLUTD), with and without deadly crystals run rampant these days. Cats are not taking in enough water to stave them off. Proper water intake through a species appropriate diet alone can prevent most of these conditions.

Overall,  wet is all around better for any cats diet, be it canned or Raw and they should never be fed dry cereal kibble if we wish to most closely match their wild nutritional and dietary needs. Kibble meets our needs… not our cats.

If your cat is having digestive issues, it would be a good idea to take a look at the ingredients int eh food you are feeding and choose something better.

I recommend varying the diet with a constant rotation of accepted canned foods that your cat enjoys. If you do this, and allow your cat the same assortment they would have in nature when eating mice, bugs, birds and rabbits, your cats’ digestive system won't be so sensitive and you won't have to run around looking for a specific brand when your store is out. You will have a nice variety to choose from instead.

Canned foods I recommend for your rotation:

  8. add water to the kitten chow to soften it. most of the time that will work, if it doesnt just go ask your vet what you should do. i can see giving wet food after the kitten got used to the dried food but not before.

then again i only give wet food as a treat once and a while to my cats, my one cat doesnt even like wet food that much
