Ok best answer 10 points as always. I just need to know what the base/root word is for theory and if there is a prefix and suffix. And tell me what it is if there is. I also need ideas on how to create a visual picture for the word theory. And if you can tell me the origin of the word you are automatically the best answer.

  1. prefix : beginning add on to a word.

example : pretest <- pre means like before, so the prefix pre changes the meaning of the word test.

    and suffix is the opposite.

like happy goes to happier meaning more. yaknow?

and root/base word for pretest is test

and root/base word for happier is happy.

    i hope that helps!

  2. The English word "theory" comes from the Greek root word theo-rC3s, meaning spectator. This derives from the same root as the word "theater." Human beings invent theories for the same basic reasons they invent theater--to bring out into a public space a play of ideas that might help us better understand our world.
