Question:

Ok, one more Probation Question

I asked one the other day about that random 80 hour alcohol test, I'm doing my best to suck it up, and just not drink. This is my 1st offense in 6 years, they've given me 2 years probation, she already said she'd let me out early if I behaved.

My question: What is the best I can reasonably hope for ? One year? 6 mos.? And I want to have a kind of heart-to-heart with my P.O. to let her know I will NEVER do this again (and I really won't), when is a good time to have this with her, I've only had one meeting with her so far?

I really want off probation asap. I feel like my life is on hold for one stupid mistake. Any advice would be appreciated.

  1. The fact that your PO said you would be released early is a very positive sign. She will probably have you report once a month for 5 or 6 months ( I would expect her to also alcohol test ( by urine ) considering why you are on probation.).

If you follow your sanctions, report when you are supposed to and not violate yourself with a dirty urine, I would then expect her to have you report two more times over the following 6 months.

Keep your nose clean and I would think she will recommend an early release after 1 year total.

Best of luck and I hope this is useful to you

  2. Why be in such a hurry? If all it is affecting is your alcohol consumption and you are not doing it anymore, what is the problem?
