have been for about a year and a half. Well I have been getting these really bad headeaches for about 3 weeks. I have glasses so I know it's not because of my eyes. A couple of months before summer I started taking a muli-vitamin because I was getting headaches. It helped some but not a lot. And now they are back. I think it's because I'm not eating balanced meals. Any suggestions on how to get the headaches to stop?

  1. If you have health insurance, get a blood test. If that shows normal levels (especially of calcium, iron, potassium and iodine) try an omega EFA supplement (which combats inflamation through out the body), many have fish oils, but there are versions based on seed oils like borage, flax, hemp, and chia seeds which are good for EFA, protein and calcium levels if you use the whole seed instead of just the oil. if low iodine, iron, calcium and potassium is your problem add sea vegetables to your diet, if you don't like sea vegetables, look for ones you can sprinkle on food or add to soups/stews.

  2. eat more protein, and remember that vitamins help, but are no cure all...

  3. One thing you could try is eating smaller meals more often.  Same about of food- just smaller portions throughout the day.  Try to eat something every 3-4 hours.  Also, watch your sugar content.  Have you been tracking your caffeine intake?  Caffeine is associated with headaches.  And make sure you're drinking plenty of water.

  4. I know you said it's not your eyes but i have a pair of glasses that i SHOULD wear, any time i do they give me a spiltten headache. My mam also has glasses and i use hers sometimes and they're stronger than mine and don't give me headaches. You might need to get your eyes checked and get a stronger pair of glasses.

  5. Sweetie you need to see your doctor about these headaches. They probably have nothing to do with your diet. If your a teen call your eye doctor about this too. You may need new eyeglasses.

Just a guess, but I still want you to contact your doctor ----

Check to see if your eating products that contain MSG. It is known to give some people really bad headaches. Some fake meats contain it.

  6. Once again, unless you are going to show us a copy of your food log, which I doubt you've constructed, asking advice over the internet is even more pointless than if you actually did show us what you've been eating.

You're online, you can research balanced vegetarian diets.

So far, we know that you take multivitamins and you think that you're not eating a balanced diet.

    Okay? So start eating better.

  7. drink enough water?

  8. when your a vegetarian people automatically like to blame whatever ails you on being a veg... but you've been veg a year and a half and only had headaches 3 weeks so why do you think it's diet?  has your diet changed in another way recently?  i would actually say your more likely cause is your glasses... when did you last check your prescription?

  9. you should eat more proteins. it doesnt have to be neccesarily meat and stuff. but just incase, I would reccommend you to go see a doctor.
