Well, maybe the school has paid a portion of the trip so it might be less than a regular airplane ticket. But, this will be unknown until you parents go down to the school meeting.

A quick check on expedia.com for a flight from Phoenix, AZ to San Jose, CR from June 1st to June 7th costs an average $560.

Of course this does not include food, hotel stay or other expenses.

About the price, it depends on where you will be staying and how wealthy you are. If you're willing to pay $1000-1500 you can get a very nice hotel and average tours.

Lucky kid you are. Costa Rica is a great place to practice your Spanish and have a really cool vacation!

The flights from the southern states can be anywhere from $350-$450 (I flew from California for $450 last July)

Then the hotels they choose may be cheap or pricey, that all depends. Count on an average cost of $40 per night.

Then food will be around $25 per day, and you may need an extra $200 or so for taking the canopy tours.

Probably anywhere from $1000- $1200
