Ok, so my dv port is broken on the back of my Panasonic Mini DV AG-FVC7P camcorder. I need an alternative way

to transfer my video footage to my computer. Can anyone give me any cost effective ideas. Thanks alot.

miniDV tape, and ieee1394 standards are interchangeable, that is ANY DV camera or DV VCR can play back your tape for computer capture. it is not like the unfinalized DVD that can only play in the original recorder.  borrow a camcorder for a day to get the transfer done.
