  1. English? British?

    I'm Northumbrian! ;) *1

But really, would you rather be ME Member of England or MBE Member of the British Empire? *2

  2. Britian consists of Wales,Scotland and England, so British is someone from one or a combination of those places, wheras English are from England only. You can't be English without being British, wheras you can be British without being English.

  3. Speak for yourselves, I was born in England but consider myself British as my family are a mix of Scottish, Irish and Welsh blood. Plus I would prefer to be European. My first choice would be citizen of the world lol lol lol

  4. Being english is being part of the country england. Being Britishis being a part of what was once te largest empire ever. Despite England being essentially the head of the empire, it was still referred to as the British empire. Therefore it would evoke greater respect.

  5. As someone else has already mentioned, British people can be from Scotland, England or Wales, Britain does not solely mean England.

Now do you understand why the term British evokes greater respect than English ;)

  6. i think that English are more into fashion and the music seen. the brittish are more refined and classy they belive in having tea and cakes than just chilln and having a few pints of beer at the local pub or just listening to the latest new music.in other words the English are more fun than the Brittish.
