Question:

Ok, there has GOT to be a better way to clean my oven, without asphyxiating myself?

Last week my blueberry cobbler bubbled over in the oven--ALOT. So now I sprayed the d*** thing for the second time to see if I can clean the gunk off and hopefully bake again without setting my house on fire. I take a deep breath out the open back door, quickly spray an area in the oven, shut the door quickly, then run to the back door for another breath of clean air. Is there a safer, more environmentally-friendly way to clean this?

  1. ~~Yes! I found the perfect product and I love it! You don't even need to wear gloves.  It's made by Fuller Brush and it's called Fulsol Degreaser. I by mine in a kit on www.qvc.com  I hate cleaning my oven, but with this stuff it's so tolerable I have no excuse. Just use as directed, and the water is the secret that makes this stuff work. There are mixed reviews by users, but I took a chance and I am so happy I did. I won't even tell how long it had been since I cleaned mine for the same reasons you gave. You will not ever regret buying this, it is absolutely awesome-no smell except a nice clean one, and my hands didn't even get chaffed and I wore no gloves. Awesome stuff!!~~

  2. There is more than one Fume Free oven cleaner on the market! You should go check out the grocery store for different brands. Also, there is a pump spray oven cleaner that produces a lot less fumes. I like that kind because it sprays a thick lotion-y type of cleaner on the oven and you can let it sit, then wipe it off.

  3. Fume free Easy Off Max works well. I've used it several times.

My aunt spreads on a paste of baking soda and water, then I think she mists vinegar on top to get the baking soda to bubble, lets it set for a few minutes.  Then she wipes it clean.

  5. Yeah you need a type of degreaser, barmans keeper. like comet. and a silver scrubby.  Spray powder soak for about 10 mins , then scrub it out.
