Ok, to all your new yorkers or cruise people- how far is penn station from the cruise docks?

Question

we can't figure out if we want to fly or take the train (we're from florida). so if anyone knows how far penn station is or how far jfk is from the cruise docks that would be great!!

I believe the cruise docks are on the west side of Manhattan. that would make Penn station a lot closer, perhaps only a 15 minutes walk. Penn station is on 34th street and the docks are all the way to west in the 40s.

From JFK into Manhattan itself is at least half hour drive. And it isn't that convenient, you will have to transfer a couple of trains or pay $40? into Manhattan by taxi

Just because you are cruising from New York does not mean that you are leaving from the west side of Manhattan. Make sure that you are not leaving from Red Hook, Brooklyn or Bayonne, New Jersey, where some ships leave from. Once this is confirmed, your best bet would be to fly in and take a taxi to the terminal. If it is in Bayonne, NJ, fly into Newark.

You can do a map search on Google that will show you exactly where each is.  But you should take the train because the train station is definitely closer than either on the airports in New York and a shorter cab ride.  Penn Station is at about 31st Street in Manhattan and the cruise terminal is at 51st street in Manhatten
