I'm a conservative republican, but I can even admit he did a good job. Do you think he'll win the election?

  1. I was very moved and impressed by this man. He will be good for America. He should win the election, as it might be America's last chance

to get out of the mess it's in.

  2. I burst into laughter.

He said McCain wants to give tax breaks to companies that take jobs away from americans. While that is involved in his idea, he said he wants to give tax breaks to ALL businesses.

Don't get me started about Hussein Obamas capital gains tax portion. That's just ridiculous.

Keep in mind 1 thing. Hitler gave great speeches too. Mussolini did his share of speeches as well. A great orator does not mean a great leader.

  3. I'm a die hard Republican, but I thought his speech last night was great. I may even have to change parties. McCain is the worst candidate the Reps have ever had. I guess he'll be okay though if you need some country nuked.

  4. We heard the exact  same speech four years ago, and eight years ago - change, "throw the bums out" passion, idealism - it was a very moving speech but if you read the transcript it's the same stuff.

He is a very passionate speaker when reading from a script - but you have to realize that these conventions are designed by ad people and designed to be stirring.  Expect the same from the Republicans.

The little bit of content that he did touch on was about caring for the disenfranchised workers who had been laid off by companies that went out of business - but it is high taxes and the high operating costs created by overly-muscular unions that have put those companies out of business in the first place.  This is Obama's economic plan.
