I think I finally figured it out. I was thinking that any religion that professes to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ were christian. But, then I kept being told, no you have to believe in the Trinity and don't rely on works and...and....

Now I get it! There are a group of people in the world who don't "belong" to any Church, but they study the Bible and accept Jesus as their Savior and stuff like that, and they call themselves "Christians" which they are, because they follow Jesus Christ. But for some reason they believe that no one else in an established religion is a True Christian? Am I correct?

Not trying to be mean...just trying to figure it out.

  1. i like answering in religion and spirituality

the questions always crack me up

i like how u talk about christianity like its the latest trend or a new fad

  2. No I think your wrong. I believe there are true Christians in every denomination of the protestant religion. Better Christians than I am anyway, and that's the only way I can measure them. God forbid I ever claim to be a better Christian than anyone else.

  3. All I can or will say is : Only God knows the heart !! Yes, there are those in and out of the *establishment* that are not of the *true* faith.... go in peace..... God bless

  4. Pretty much.

  5. Most of the Christians I've met don't read the bible at all. They have been taught since a young child to say that they believe Jesus died for their sins, and thats about as much as they know.

  6. You are right that anyone can say they are a Christian.

The word Christian means to be a follower of Christ. If a person claims to be a Christian but does not follow the rules and teaching of Jesus, they are a liar and not really Christian.

However, there are some things that are not clear cut and there is room for variance in them. This creates problems also as some people think that they and they alone are right.

When the disciples ask Jesus about some people who were preaching about Him but doing it differently, Jesus said; if they are for me they are not against me. That suggests that every one will not believe exactly the same but they MUST believe in the Virgin Birth, death and resurrection of Jesus and salvation only through the name of Jesus and they must accept His teachings or they are not Christian. They are just wannabe's.

  7. For me personally, no.  I just believe it depends on accepting Jesus.

  8. you are not correct.

  9. Yep, no one is as good a christian as them.

They keep moving the goalposts to fit their agenda.  The only people who have to do that are the ones worried they will be beaten by the opponent.
