  1. Corn bread is good for you!

  2. Where have you been getting your "information"?

I have in front of me packages of 100% whole wheat bread, sesame white bread, and corn tortillas. As I read the information on the packages, I don't see a lot of difference between the ingredients or the nutritional value of the three.

Having the "Nutrition Facts"  printed on all prepared foods has been a great help in understanding what we're eating.  Of course, lists of ingredients are also helpful, but they don't always reflect the nutritional value of the prepared food.

I don't know what kind of "poison" you're talking about, but no poison I've ever heard of appears in any nutrient list. (And keep in mind, even water can be poisonous, under some circumstances.)

If white flour bread were "basically poison", why haven't we had deadly epidemics of poisoning?  Why isn't there a much higher rate of illness in those parts of Mexico where wheat tortillas are preferred to corn ones?

Flour made of ground corn is very low in gluten, so it's not possible to make a risen bread with just plain corn flour.

If you're talking about corn bread like Johnny Cake, you have the additional nutrients of milk, eggs, oil, wheat flour, etc.

  3. I'm guessing that store bought corn bread has white flour in it, the recipes I have used involve white flour. make your own with whole wheat so that you know what's going into it

  4. Have you heard of grinding your own wheat to make the bread?  My sister does it.  She goes to a health food store where they have it and she grinds her own so she can be super healthy.  BTW,  Corn is way better for you than flour.  You can go with corn and be healthy.
