Kimbo wasn't ready. He's no Mike Tyson. When Mike Tyson first came out?! Oh! Dude was knocking people out cold! Cold! Not street fights but professional fights! Do you hear me! I think the critics are right. Last night was truly an embarrasment for Kimbo. He needs more training. He's not an MMA or UFC fighter. He's still a street fighter.

  1. 1st of all when Mike went pro he was already an established amateur with a record.  What does Kimbo have?

Yea, he's going to suck.  Give him time.  That's all he deserves.

  2. WTF racisim are u fckin retarded. YOu noob fans need two know that one of the most beloved fighters is Rampage Jackson the blackest black guy to ever be black and every one loves that guy. and Also Anderson Silva who is one of the best fighters EVER , he is the jackie robinson of the sport. Kimbo is to mma what william hung was to american Idol. Just a side show to attract casual fans.

  3. boxing is one deminsional.  If tyson fought a legitimate mma heavyweight, he would lose fast.  Put a mma fighter in a boxing match with a legitimate boxer and he would most likely lose.  Kimbo is just starting out in mma, last night proved that the guys kimbo fought in backyards don't even compare to fighters that train mma.  Thompson isn't even in the top 20 in the heavyweight division.  Kimbo has a long road ahead of him.

  4. People say he sucks...yet he is undefeatable.

If any of the so-called good MMA guys were better than him then Kimbo will lose.

Frankly I sense a lot of racism in the sport. People are jealous that a black guy is taking over the sport like Jackie Robinson did baseball.

  5. Your right he sucked and so does the organization that put it on people say he didnt look good because Thompson took him to the ground but Thompson is not a ground fighter either and he has lost 7 out of his last 8 fights by being k.o. in the first that whole organization is very short on talent i give them less than a year then bankrupt

  6. Kimbo had very little MMA skills obviously. But you can't knock him for taking the money. It's his biggest payday ever, for A guy that is used to living day-to-day off the streets. He doesn't stand a chance against any real MMA fighter, but he can throw hay-makers with another brawler.

  7. if kimbo lost that would be the end of saturday night fights, they are in his favor so.. obviously hes gonna win like that ****

  8. Yeah he needs to train more and learn to wrestle

  9. not really...he atcually did pretty good considering that the other guy didnt fight Kimbo's game and went to the ground. Thompson has been training for years and even though he got kimbo to the ground he couldnt submit him...and this is only Kimbos 3 fight in MMA ever?? If Kimbo can improve his ground game so that it is anywhere near his awesome striking power he will be hard to beat...He is just too strong

  10. Uhm, he won.

  11. That's all he is right now, a good street fighter.  In time he can learn the skills to compete, but he's not young, he'll never be a contender with the top guys in the sport.

  12. First, UFC fighters are MMA fighters.  The UFC is simply an organisation that has MMA fighters.  It's not like it's "one or the other."

As far as Kimbo Slice goes, he's horrible right now, but keep in mind this was only his THIRD fight.  I have less of a problem with Slice than I do with CBS and Elite XC...what the  c**p were they thinking putting on a show with Slice as the "main event"????  I mean, really?!  Robbie Lawler's fight should have been the main attraction last night.  The only reason that Slice won was b/c 1), he was fighting a guy that wasn't all that good (sorry Thompson), 2) for some reason the ref didn't stop the fight when Thompson was slamming his elbow repeatedly into Slice's head (don't know WHAT the ref was thinking not stopping it then), and 3) the ref PREMATURELY stopped the fight (seriously....Thompson was fine, and easily winning on points).

  13. I disagree. He fought well given the circumstances. He had 3 mma fights, James Thompson had 20 mma fights. James Thompson was taller, has the reach and the weight advantage. James Thompson KO former UFC heavyweight champion Don Frye. For someone who has only 3 mma fights, he did real well.

  14. That fight was a joke and it seemed fixed to me (something I never thought I'd say about an MMA fight).

  15. I agree that Kimbo wasn't ready for that fight, but i don't think it's an embarassment for him. If anybody saw his first two pro fights, he did better in this last one than he did in the first two. If anybody should be embarassed it should be Bas Rutten and Kimbo's trainers. They knew the magnitude of this fight, but didn't make sure their fighter was properly prepared. Bas knows what it takes to compete at a high level in this sport & he knows Kimbo will do whatever he tells him as far as training and getting ready. If you saw his fight last night, Thompson was on his way out when the ref stopped it. Two or three more good ones & he would've laid down. However, i did see what i thought was Kimbo tapping in round two & the ref didnt call it. As far as saying if you put him against a Top 10 MMA fighter he'd lose in no time, well so would anybody on TUF show. This is a guy with ZERO formal training in any kind of hand-to-hand/close quarters combat.  What do expect from a guy that's not a former college champ like the vast majority of MMA fighters? Of course he's not gonna be an instant stud in the sport, he's got to grow just like anyone else. He doesn't have a firm foundation in anything besides street fighting which doesn't do him any good inside the cage. I wouldn't compare him to Mike Tyson either, Mike was good *** amateur before he turned pro & turned grown men into scared punks. Kimbo will be alright as soon as he gets with a camp that takes fighting seriously.
