I got this email this morning from my boss, thought it would be one of his daily jokes when I open it said "The poor guy...she had him in the engine compartment so long...his **** turned purple!!!!!

So I was like wow ok it must be a racy joke. So I opened the attachment and it was a video of a girl on a boat and it looked like something from Americas Funniest Home Videos but I soon realized it was p**n and clicked off before it got worst (i.e someone walk up and see this) So now I'm wondering did my boss mean to send me this or was it an accident?

And what do I do now? Do I let him know? I don't want him to think I'm cool with that. and if so how do I say it

  1. i'd be looking for a new job.  this just doesn't sound good to me.  he obviously doesn't respect you or he wouldn't be showing/sending you this c**p.

  2. Just hit reply and leave the message blank and send it back to him so he knows you got it and then see if he says anything in way of aplogies.

  3. 1.  This constitutes hostile environment sexual harassment.  Since you can't complain to the boss, file a complaint with your local Equal Employment Opportunity Office (www.eeoc.gov.)

    2.  Do respond to the email - tell him that he must have sent you the email by mistake and that you are uncomfortable receiving that type of stuff.

    3.  You should also probably start looking for a new job - this doesn't sound like a good environment for you and it will certainly not be comfortable once you file a complaint.

    Good luck.

  4. You need to walk up to him and let him know about the e-mail he sent to you.  He needs to give you an explanation regarding this e-mail.  I don't think this is appropriate at all.  If he doesn't give you a good explanation, you need to contact HR and let them know what happened.  I suggest filing sexual harassment with HR.

  5. That is a form of harassment, and you could both get in trouble for not reporting it to HR, if you have one.

I would foward it to his boss and ask if it was sent to you by mistake.
