  1. Ah yes, the joys of parenthood...its ok, I won't be Mother of the Year either..I know it won't look as pretty....but....tuck the bumpers lower so they are wedged between the mattress and crib bars...that way he can't wiggle his chubby legs through the bumpers because they will be tightly wedged.  Good luck! :)

  2. There is a mesh net bumper that you can put over the crib so he can't get his little legs through.  I made one and it works great!  My daughter can't get her legs or hands through anymore!!

    Good Luck

  3. You are not horrible!  A lot of babies do this!  I am not sure how you can prevent this, I just wanted to let you know that youre not a bad or mean mom!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. maybe put some sturdy padding around the whole crib

  5. You're not a mean mommy. This happened to my kids, too. Even when the bumper was tied down and tight, they'd manage to get their legs through.

  6. Your not a mean mommy! Accident's happen and there's really nothing you could have done. :) So don't beat yourself up about it! I've done the same thing. How old is your son? We moved my son to a toddler bed when he turned 1 and that really helped. (He started walking at 10 months so he could get up and down safely)

There's a product called Breathable Baby Crib Shield. I'm sure there are different brands that are similar but it's sort of a mesh fabric bumper that covers the entire rails. If you google it you can find a store near you that sells it.

    Good Luck & God Bless!

Here's the link to the one I found.

  7. So it happens. It happened with all my kids. You just have to tell yourself that if he got his leg to stick through in the first place, it won't be tight enough to cause any damage.

      It's ALL RIGHT!

    hope this helps.

My friend swears by this thing.

  10. There is nothing you can do as long as he sleeps in a crib. If it becomes a problem and you can't control it you could consider having him sleep in a pack and play.

  11. aw its ok as long as he isnt stuck. just tighten the bumper and maybe put extra padding. i work at a daycare and sometimes look in the nursery and see a chubby little leg sticking out hahaa

  12. My daughter sleeps like this, on purpose and of her own choice. Put her in long ways and she turns around short ways. Apparently she likes it, she's 19 months and has been doing it since 10 months.

  13. One day I went in to check on Emma and her leg was stuck through the crib slat.  I asked a question of whether or not I should wake her.  Someone recommended a screen type thing that goes around the crib.  I think it is called a breathable bumper.  That was the only time she did it though.

  14. I use the breathable bumper.  It stretches very tightly around the crib and its much safer b/c it is mesh.  My son never sticks limbs out of the crib anymore.  Hoep this helps!
