ok last night i was asleep in bed you know, and right before I woke up I was dreaming i was using the bathroom....and you know I was asleep so I know that I rly could do anything....and when woke up I rly needed to use the bathroom....and I was getting out of bed to go and I was half awake half asleep and by the time I was out of bed....my pajamas were wet......so I changed pants and got back in bed.....later in the morning b4 I got up...( we had a snow day) I woke up and realized how uncomfortable these other pants were so i checked my other ones...which are so much more comfy...and they were dry and smelled ok...so I put them back on and went back to bed.

Now I am worried it will happen again and be worse...and my parents will find out...and that is not what I want to happen....

why did this happen and is there a way to prevent this....???

it is pretty embarrassing

  1. If you can't talk to your parents about it, try the school nurse or a doctor. I'm sure your parents would understand and they could help you whatever the cause is. If they don't know they can't help you. Good luck

  2. bed wetter!

  3. sweetie you are ok,this happens to lots of people, they just won,t tell anyone about it,i am 60 years old and i dream the same thing, going to the restroom, sometimes over and over than i wake up and usually don,t make it to the restroom.so don,t worry, just try not to eat or drink anything a few hours before bed.this may help.good luck, you,re a good kid

  4. You shouldn't drink water after your last pee before you go to bed. And whenever you wake up, go to the bathroom.

And when you feel that you need to pee, even if you're asleep, don't push it back it, release it or you'll really pee on your pants.

  5. Don't worry about it man, hopefully its just a one-time-thing, but if it continues to happen it might be worth seeing a doctor about.

In regards to the person talking about depends, they are a really crappy product, crinkly plastic and don't hold that much. They have better products like Pull-Ups or GoodNites. They are designed for kids up to 15, so you shouldn't have any trouble buying them, and you can pull them up and down like regular underwear so you don't have an accident if you wake up and can't get the diaper off in time. You can get the GoodNites in the baby section of stores with the other diapers, and they are pretty inexpensive too.

Good luck either way, and don't worry about it.... Lots of kids your age do it, everyone has accidents. It may just be that you are going through a growth spurt and your bladder isn't keeping up with the rest of your body... It will in time, and everything will be normal again.

  6. wake yourself up like, every couple or so hours, to check if you need to go. personally, if i ever had to go, i would wake up in the middle of the night. don't know why you didn't. anyways, again, just wake up every couple of hours (like, keep setting and resetting your alarm clock) and then see if you need to go (if you're that worried that it will happen again.)

good luck with your problem. =\

  7. Do you have a problem? Probably not. You probably were just in a deep sleep and waited too long to go.That's why you dreamed you had to use the bathroom. It was your body, telling you to get up and go!

If you haven't had this problem in five years, I wouldn't worry about it. If it happens again, then talk to your parents or doctor, whatever you feel comfortable with-- and don't drink a lot before bed. You don't need to be embarrassed. It's over, tonight you'll have a different dream-not about peeing! No big deal. Time to move on...

  8. If you are not comforatble talking to your parents about this talk to your doctor. At your age (I'm assuming your in your early teens) It is not normal to leak urine during sleep. This is a sign of something, whether it be a small bladder or a bladder infection or any number of things. It needs to be addressed. Try and talk just with your mom alone or with your dad alone who ever you are most comfortable with. I'm sure your parents love you and wont judge you for something that is not your fault. Good luck

    Edit:

If this was a one time thing I wouldn't worry about it, it could just be how much you drank that day or just a weird response to your dream. If it happens again in the next ten days or so talk to your parents if not don't worry about it

  9. it's k,

dont listen to this freaks who are insulting...some like older peeps do dis too dont drink before you go to bed. and. go to the loo before you go to bed.

    Ognore all the insultin comments.

  10. Lots of unknown factors here - too many for us to really help you accurately.  Your discomfort is understandable.  No one likes being in the situation you are describing.  But try not to be too worried, so that you can get some help instead of just shutting down with embarassment.  Bodies are very leaky things, and getting used to how to handle that takes a bit of effort.  And everyone has different things their body does that takes some time to adjust to.

But - it sounds like a couple of things:- and maybe you will get some suggestions from our answers which will help you through the nights.

    >>Possibly you were simply  in a really deep sleep and trying to tell yourself to get up and go to the bathroom, and you simply waited too long

    >>>You can wait to see if it happens again OR just as added insurance you can set your alarm for a little less than you were sleeping when you got your 'dream' (and get up and go to the bathroom whether you feel like you have to empty your bladder or not) -  like if you slept 5 hours, then set the alarm for four hours, but remember to set it AGAIN before you go back to bed, so you get up on time.

    >>You drank sugar/caffeine products before bed (3-4 hours before bed will do it too, even if you emptied before bed). So try to stop all sugar and/or caffeine liquid products in the late afternoon instead of early evening, as they are an irritant to your system.

    >>>Actually increase your water intake during the rest of the day, so that your body has time to process proteins (that's what the water does) before you go to sleep.  A well hydrated body won't 'surge' on you like that in your sleep.

    >>Your body is 'changing' and you'll need to keep up with the changes. Get a plastic bag and have it handy to put your 'wet' items in. Then, do a small load of laundry before you leave for  school.

    >>Get some 'adult' products for this like Depends, etc.  and use them at bedtime.

    >>There are also disposable bed wetting mats that you can buy located in the baby section of stores like WalMart, and you can put it down on the bed and sleep on that so that the bottom sheet and mattress don't get soaked.  This is also a good idea if you are using the Depends, in case of leakage.

    >>>If your relationship is fairly good with your parents, you will be surprised how supportive they will be about this and can help you with a solution that works for you as they know you and the situation better than we do.  And, it won't be a surprise to them, as they were young once too and had bodies that were changing..  But, if that is not an option or you don't feel comfortable about speaking openly with them,

try your school nurse, they are also discreet and confidential.

    >>If it continues you may also want to run this by your doctor, call and speak with the nurse and ask if you can ask the doctor a personal question over the phone for a minute and be willing to wait on the phone for a bit, then ask just the way you've done here.

    >>Remember when you are buying items like Depends or the bed wetting mats that no one knows the reason why, it could be just that someone gave you a list and that it's for babies and the elderly.  So don't be ashamed to purchase them.  (This is another reason to speak with your parents, if you haven't got the money)

And, remember, unless it is a medical condition which you will need to attend to with your doctor, this will eventually settle down and you will get up when your bladder needs you to get up (unless you are a constant deep sleeper, and then the alarm is a real help, but you must remember to reset it before going back to bed).

Sweet dreams and dry bedding to you.

    :)
