  1. There are already some great suggestions but I suggest you bring him a new dad survival kit. It is a way of providing a little humor in a tiring situation. Like ear plugs for the crying and a quarter so he can call someone who cares. It depends on the humor of you hubby and you.

My husband thought it was hiliarious that I gave him a quarter to call someone who cares about him not being the center of attention anymore. He quickly replied that it now costs 2 quarters to make a pay phone call. I needed that laugh after my tiring delivery.

Oh make sure he has the camera!

  2. Tylenol - the hospital won't give him any

    Coins for the vending machine

    clothes, towels, toiletries

I would pack a magazine and ipod for him... you will want something quiet for him to do while you are in labor so you don't murder him for making noise.

If you have a private room, usually dad is allowed to spend the night. Most hospitals have nice private recovery suites with sofa beds for dad. They should provide him a pillow and blanket and stuff.

  3. he should bring his pillow and a warm blanket, Magazines/books

  4. Haqve him pack a razor, a pillow, blanket, and an extra t shirt and some undies...oh and a calling card so you do not get chraged for long distant calls on your hospital bill..

  5. Some clean clothes - he might be there overnight.  Also something to wash his face and brush his teeth.  Some snacks, music and movies for both of you to listen to/watch.

  6. money they will probably only feed you a pillow if he's gonna sleep in a chair slippers are nice in the summer a phone card so he can call your family snacks

and for you do not forget a brush I was induced as I was very sick and I didn't think I was gonna have him yet so I was in the hospital without even clothes to wear home and I had a 39 hour labour so 39 hours with no brush and 3 showers looks nice in all my photos lol

  7. Here's what I needed:

    -Toothbrush & Toothpaste

    -Hair Brush and hair ties

    -Deoderant

    -Shampoo & conditioner

    -Body soap

    -Razor

-Comfortable tshirts for you and your hubby

-Sweat pants for you (I had a tough time keeping my legs shaved and didnt want everyone to know, thats why not shorts)

    -Couple shorts for hubby

    -Shoes, I prefered my sandals.

    -Receiving blanket

    -Car seat

    -Head support for car seat

-A cute going home outfit for baby

Dont forget to grab all the goodies that the hospital will give you. Grab everything in the bin under where the baby was kept. Ask for some extra diapers, formula, pads (for you), and extra stretchy underwear they give you.

    Hope this helps!

  8. The hospital will give him a pillow and blanket. All he needs is maybe a change of clothes in his car. Or he can go home to change. May want to have money for the vending machines and a good book. He should take some comfortable shoes.

  9. seeing that you stay overnight.(i had to stay 3 days)

a pair a clothes for him,a pair of clothes for when you leave (you wont get to wear your own clothes untill then) blankets and pillows of course, your make up bag, anything that might entertain you, money for food for him(you'll get food but not him most likely), an outfit to take home baby in and possibly a blanket,a carseat, pjs for him,a brush and hair tyes for you, thats about it,dont over pack,i spent countless hours shopping and packing and pretty much the hospital provides everything for you and baby,o and a camera and doedorant

  10. If he is allowed to stay in the room with you overnight, he will ant his own toiletries and a change of clothes.  Ask him to bring a book, crossword puzzles, magazines, or something else to keep him occupied during any down time, and perhaps an iPod to watch or listen to?  Snacks and bottled water, too.

As for yourself, don't worry too much about packing a lot of clothes, as you won't want to mess up your own clothes with all the messy birth stuff (which continues for several days after you have had the baby).  Mess up the hospital gowns instead.  Bring slippers and a robe for when you are up and about, and make sure you have a change of clothes to wear home (for you and the baby).

Other things that you might forget:

Camera, with extra film or memory cards, and lots of batteries

Video camera with extra tapes and battery charger.

Cell phone and charger.  If the hospital doesn't allow cell phone usage in the building, make sure you have some coins, a calling card, and a list of the people you want to call to announce the baby's arrival.

    iPod

Favorite toiletries, including some hair stuff and a little makeup, in case you want to freshen up for visitors or photos.

    Moisturizer

    Socks

    Gum and/or mints
