  1. your daughter....mmmmm I think that its your homework, or why on your profile does it say, "boys, boys, boys, my cousins...."

actually you should give me 10 points for being so smart...infact I bet you 10 points that I am right...??  ;=)

  2. It's "irresponsible".

  3. T

    ?

    T

    explanation

1 yes there are cycles called the Milankovitch cycles. these are changes in the earths orbit which can effect climate. [1]

    2 sorry dont know

3 yes, sulphate particles can cool the earth but these also caused prolbems like acid rain. they were controled with the clean air acts and an internatonal protercall [3]

    4 yes most do [2]

5 there is very little variation in solar output. its something like .1% and these changes are short so it has very little effect on the climate.

6 yes Recycling saves power and raw materials

7 no, climate is a long term trend. normally the 10 or 5 year average.

8 sort of. its not that simple because the al nina and la nino cycles cause droughts in the americas all while causing rain in south east asia and vice verser.

9 voncanos release sulphate arosoals and these can cool the earth.

  4. No we can't.

You are not showing your daughter how smart she can be - you are showing her how to cheat.

Be the adult and admit you don't know the answers and offer to help her research them - that doesn't mean secretly post them on YA for easy answers.

Help her search the internet, look up environmental websites, look up government sites ,use a book even.

You may mean well but you are teaching your child that somone else will bail her out when she mucks up.

TEACH HER how to find answers - this is a big learning time for her.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day - teach a man to fish and he will feed himself and his family forever.

Teach your daughter how to research and she will benefit much much more than being a dum dum and expecting the answers to fall from the sky as she goes through life.

    :)

  5. I have to say that many of these questions are misleading, and a T/F answer is not really sufficient. But here goes ...

    1. Even without pollution climate can change by itself?

T - It does all the time – the climate has changed cyclically for as long as the earth has existed, and long before pollution.

    2. El Nino is when the pacific ocean is very warm? T or F

    T

    3. Pollution can change climate?

Hmmm... This is a hard one to answer T/F. It would require a definition of pollution. Some say carbon dioxide (CO2) causes global warming (although many say otherwise with good reason). But CO2 is not a pollutant – it is a necessary part of the carbon cycle that through photosynthesis feeds plants and produces the oxygen we breathe. But there are so many other types of pollution that this becomes a meaningless question without more specifics. My gut is to say F, but I’ll bet the teacher wants T.

    4. Scientist don't think that global warming is happening?

F – They have observed about 0.7° C increase in average temperature of the earth surface and lower atmosphere over the past century. This is natural global warming – which is not the same as anthropogenic global warming (the belief that humans have caused warming). There is much debate as to whether or not humans have caused it.

    5. Sunlight is important in determining climate?

T – Solar energy from the sun is what warms the earth to a livable state.

    6. Recycling can help reduce pollution?

    T

    7. Climate can change everyday?

F - Climate change happens over long periods of time – decades or centuries. Every day changes are weather.

    8. El Nino is a good thing for some places on earth?

T – Generally speaking warmer is better for plant and animal life.

    9. Volcanoes can change climate with their smoke?

T - The “smoke” is actually ash that can remain suspended in the atmosphere for years in what is referred to as an aerosol. It can block solar radiation (energy from the sun) thereby causing an overall cooling effect.

  6. 1. T

    2. true to a point.

    3.T

4.F Its almost unanimously agreed among scientists the world is warming, most of the debate is why.

    5. Weird question not sure what they want

    6.True (obviously)

    7.true Climate changes every second

    8. i would say false i guess its perspective.

    9. true. They can start an ice age....

yay for doing some kids homework!

  7. 1.  There have been three known ice ages in Earth's 5 billion year history, so True

    2.  El Nino is a natural occurence and is not the entire ocean but a combination of a heat current along with a weather current...  So it is not a True or False answer

    3.  Pollution can change climate....  False, pollution inhibits the natural process and can even slow but not within and of itself change anything.

    4.  Yes, and you can have a scientist in your pocket if you promise them billions of dollars in research...  So True if you listen to the corrupt scientists and False if you listen to the objective ones..

    5.  Sunlight is the constant that provides energy for Earth's survival.  Clouds have more of an impact than any other gas could ever have.

    6.  Recycling does help reduce pollution True

    7.  This is Global Warming freaks sore spots...  See, they say climate is weather measured over ten years...  However, when that measurement reveals a lower temperature, they then expand climate to average over 30 years...  In the next ten, when the average is even lower, they will expand the climate range to weather over 50 years...  Mark my words! lol

    8.  El Nino is both good and bad because it brings rainfall to dry climates and harsh weather to others...

    9.  Volcanos DO CHANGE climates..  In fact the biggest proof that global warming enthusiasts are full of c**p is the Mount Pinatubo eruption in 1991 that resulted in billions of tons of CO2 in the atmosphere which almost took away Europe's summer and in some places it did...

  8. no,that's not fair, type in the question and use the internet to find answers, that's what i do when i don't no the answer, she will get more info as well,so will help with grades if she answers them a bit fuller!

  9. I'm afraid that I am with the previous poster.  You are not helping your daughter at all to find the answers for her.  Sit down at the computer with her and find the answers together.  That way, you will BOTH be learning and she will look up to you as someone with morals and an inquisitive mind as well.  Knowledge is not just knowing things, it's also very much knowing how and where to find the answers!

  10. There are true answers and Politically Correct answers. I can't guarantee these will be marked correct.
