  1. Well, parakeets are the most difficult of all birds to be trained to y talk. There is rarely any parakeets who talk. Man are to hyper and just very alive. They're just all over the place hopping. There are 7 in 100 chances that you will teach your parakeet to talk. I'm truly sorry but this is the truth. There is hardly anyone who has a parakeet that talks. Besides parakeets, cockatiels are next on the list and are more advanced in talking than parakeets.

  2. Calm down. This kinda c**p takes practice. I have 3 parakeets, and I had the same situation. You just gotta be patient. You do realize that when birds "scream" it means that they are mad or scared? One more thing: it's easier for parakeets to say words with sharp sounds like t's, p's, c's, etc. That being said, it's not that easy for a parakeet to say the traditional hello, or hey.

  3. Screaming and chirping are just a birds way of talking. Sometimes its even that the bird is trying to say what you want them to. The word hey will end up more like "ay" but they can learn. My grandmother, as weird as it sounds, would repeat whatever word she wanted the bird to say into a tape recorder for 15 minutes and tried to make it sound the same pitch each time. She than played it to the birds a couple of times a day...right as she left for work, and right before bed. (She didn't want to hear it again...lol.) It always seemed to work. She also made a list of words the bird(s) knew so that she would use each word at least once a week to keep them saying it. She had parakeets and not all of them would talk, but she got all of them to whistle her favorite songs...so at least you can try that. Good luck and don't loose hope.

  4. you have to teach a bird to speak when it is really young...  you cant teach it after they have matured....

  5. Teaching them how to talk will not stop them from screaming. It's their way of talking, and you can't stop them from doing it.

They aren't spoiled brats dude... They're birds...
