Because you will be so overwhelmed by hunger you forget about everything you just wait and wait till the time comes to break your fast. Especially for religious reasons for Allah, you will feel comforted with the joy all around your brothers and sisters of Islam. But that's just my opinion, lol I should test this...so do you agree or disagree?

  1. No it is not and it may or may not work for you but please do not advocate to other people that have anxiety/depression to fast to make themselves feel better.

Anxiety and depression is a serious illness of which lack of food can actually make it worse.

Some people have more severe cases than others that is why it may or may not work for you but can be very detrimental to them.

These are medical decisions and apart from religion that should not be discounted in matters of life and death which can be the case of anxiety and depression.

Many with anxiety and depression will  need balanced diet of small light meals and if there is a question or concern it should be directed to a doctor.

  2. Fasting has been done for centuries to cure the body of ailments. This is done in many religions and cultures. Your body basically keeps the nutrients that your body needs.

From a personal experience, after fasting for a while I have gotten accustomed to eating good foods. No more junk foods and I only drink water (not even milk). I know how muslims love thier teas, but no teas for me. No caffein nor sugar drinks. I no longer eat 3 meals a day as most would say is the correct way. I eat when I get hungry. Sometimes, the most obvious of things are not so noticable.

My new diet thanks to Allah and Islam:

-Meats:chicken and fish (I want to switch to just fish)

    -Veg

    -Fruits

    -Water

-No dairy unless it is in gredient in dish, but will avoid if I can

-Occassional spoiling of myself with apple pies and such. but I preferr fruits

  3. I think starving yourself would create more problems instead of removing them. When I am depressed I eat less and your body wants to shut down. When I was like that I only ate to live but now I live to eat!

  4. Maybe your right, hope it works!!! fasting sure helps us in many ways specially when the Anti-crist come u'd know more what to do because he focus on food and women which is why Allah asked us to fast(we won't be easy for the anti-crist) and also not to touch our wife/husband during fasting!

  5. Doesn't sound too helpful to me.

  6. If you are serious then perhaps you should have a blood test done when you are finished fasting. It may sound silly, but dietary factors contribute to many things. Perhaps you are getting too much iron or vitamin C for instance. Look into it. A large percentage of anxiety/depression is caused by dietary problems...and even more so in young women (all women actually...because womens bodies are less adept at retaining and expelling certain vitamins and minerals). Check it out.

  7. It also helps in controlling the desires.

  8. I used to feel the same way. Please take this into consideration. It worked for me, although I am not you.

I had overwhelming anxiety. It turned out to be my use of Splenda. Yup Splenda. How could something that taste so good, be so bad?

I like to say sucralose, not Splenda, because that is what Splenda is. And it is in a lot of stuff. Sadly, the package doesn't have to say Splenda or diet to have sucralose in it. You have to read labels. So, you might be using it and don't even know it!

Sucralose is poison. It ruined five years of my life. I had a laundry list of medical problems while taking it, including overwhelming anxiety, depression, mood swings, insomnia, gastrointestinal issues and more.

Go ahead, google: anxiety splenda or anxiety sucralose or insomnia splenda or insomnia sucralose

The slogan, "Made from sugar..." is very misleading. Splenda might be made from sugar, but it is far from sugar. The resulting chemical is an organochloride (chlorocarbon). Organochlorides are typically poisons.

carbon monoxide - made from oxygen so its like a breath of fresh air

  9. Insha'Allah if it will benefit you then indeed go for it!
