And I ran across this while applying with NS

Please create as many entries as necessary to provide a minimum of 10 years of work experience.

Seriously? I'm only 19. Did I need to be working when I was 9?Will they even consider me if I have less than 5 years of work experience?.

Yes, they will consider you, be honest and put as complete a work history as possible.

It will not hurt your chances.

They are looking for older applicants with large unexplained gaps in their work history, that will hurt.

And dont get discouraged if you dont make it the first time, most railroaders I know had to apply more than once, persistance pays off.
