Ok. Im 5"6' 124 lbs. Im in high school. Volleyball is coming up. i have a little tummy pudge like flat at top and my gut is kinda you know, a little there. I WANT IT GONE!!! I need an exercise regiment to do that. Im really athletic but can never seem to get rid of it. I also do softball. THEY ROCK! Anyways, I also run alot and can do pretty well long distance wise. (Ive been asked to do track so many times, but I love Softball!) Ive substituted with winter running though. So...Please help with my vball tummy prob. Oh and I can serve really well underhand but any tips for over would be great. And any tips to strengthen my underhand serve. Thanks!!! SO MUCH!!!! Ive been playing vball for about 5 years but I didnt play last year and havent played until now, any practice tips would be GREAT!!!!

  1. ok-

For an exercise regimen, you can try this:

Cardio- 3-4 times per week, run 1-2 miles. Endurance running isn't as important as speed in volleyball.

Weight train- just go easy. No need for giagantic body builder muscles! You need both arm and leg strength for volleyball.

    Core strengh-

    Crunches 2 sets of 20.

    Pushups 3 sets of 10

also, lay on your back and lift your legs together.

    Leg lifts 3 sets 15

An overhand serve is really important to have in volleyball, especially at the hight school level. Practice A LOT! make sure you're hitting the ball with the heel of tour palm for power. Watch for potential foot faults. Try to develop a habit to get you ready to serve. Ex: I hit the ball and let it hit the floor 3 times, then I'm ready.

Sprints are also important. Set markers about 30 feet apart. Do like 3 sets of 15. Make sure that this running is done separately from your 1-2 mile runs.

I played JV volleyball as a freshmen and am looking to make Varsity next year. Volleyball is very important in my town. This is the regime I follow! GOOD LUCK! hope this helps.
