as the title says i had a vidus on i belive tuesday, i got rid of it, and when i leave my computer alone for 10 minutes usually my screensaver of a ocean comes up, but for some reason

it comes up a blue screen saying a error accured and restarts, but it really doesn't and when i push the space button it goes back to when u put in your password, so i right clicked the desktop and usually when i push properties, it gives me 5 options, resoultion, theme, scrensaver, desktop and somethin else, cant remember.

But When I Pushed That Button, Only 3 Came Up, And The Desktop Backround thing and Screensaver Button Was Missing, i know it was the Virus Because when it was on my computer i could not do anything with my backround or screensaver, i thought when it was not on my computer it woul change, so i searched sceensavers and i got a random animated one. a Storm with ships and all that Pirate-ish stuff, like fish Etc Etc, and when i downloaded it, it automaticaly went to properties because i thought it would do this automaticaly, but it didn't so i waited the 10 minutes but the blue screen popped up, and i was SO mad, than i tried searching Google for answers, and found nothing that all i found is how to download a screensaver.... DUH!

And than i remembed that Yahoo! Had a answers thingie, so i made a account and than i typed this. im desprite in for help, i tried restoring, and all the other simple things. oh Btw im on a laptop.

Please Help Me!

  1. Start, Run, type - gpedit.msc - , a window will open.

To recover the Desktop tab navigate to User Configuration | Administrative Templates | Windows Components | Windows Explorer. In the right pane, double click on Turn On Classic Shell and set the policy to Not Configured then click OK.

To recover the Screen saver tab navigate to User Configuration | Administrative Templates| Control Panel | Display. Now look at the policies in the right pane. Make sure that the policies starting from Hide Screen Saver Tab and ending with Screen Saver Timeout all have their state set to Not Configured.

If any of them has a different state, double click the line with the policy, select Not Configured and click OK.
