  1. it a little thing called tradition and some people actually care about and follow traditions so that is why people are making a big deal

  2. People don't like things to change.

Personally, I like the song. I don't get CBC anymore since my family got DirecTV, so it doesn't really matter to me that much.

  3. So I suppose you wouldn't care if the government decided to replace Oh Canada?  A theme song can in many ways define a show or movie, I mean I'm from Detroit and am still praying they don't replace it.  I grew up with Hockey Night In Canada, lets face it they do hockey so much better than any of the Americain stations.  It is more than just a song, its a piece of history.  The song has been around for 40 years and it reminds of us of legendary times.  Just because you've got no concern for history doesn't mean other people don't.

  4. All things must pass....

I'm with you, but FWIW, I love the HNIC theme, and it is a Canadian institution.  However, it's not like these things can last for forever.  In this "throw it away" world we're in, I'm suprised it lasted this long honestly. Whatever the next song is, we should embrace it so we can start another 40-year tradition.

It's silly to complain, you're right.

  5. This man does not speak for the rest of Canada. In fact, we're so embarrassed by his comments, we're going to say he's from....Greenland. Yes, this man is from Greenland. (Take that Greenland! That tiny, insignificant island is ours, biatches!! lol)

  6. I think we do have a right to argue! it Canadian tradition that cant be taken away!

  7. I am so upset that the deal fell through. This was one of the things that I thought could always count on.

  8. People have a right to argue.

After all these years they want to change it, it's "Canada's second anthem".

It's like changing the Star Wars theme song..
