Check It Out My Cousin's Cousin has a 08' Civic Si fit his 4th car, all his cars were new civics that his parents bought him (spoiled brat) he talks **** saying that hes hooked it up and my cousin said its quick and is positive he can beat my brother's camaro Z28 94' he's done stuff to it like new exaust, intake, etc. and there is a race going on between them and i'm certain the camaro is going to win, but im wondering will it actually be a competion or its not worth trying who do you think might win?

  1. Should be an easy win for the Z28. Especially since the honda is lacking in torque and needs to get some revs before it picks up. The new civics aren't that quick. I test drove one while car shopping and wasn't impressed. Nice car, but no speed demon. I've also driven a 95' Z28 with a 6 speed manual and it was a seriously quick machine.

  2. well the civic may weigh less and it also depends if its manual or not and how its geared. the camaro will most likely win.

  3. the question is unclear, does the z28 or civic have modifications? Either way the, the Z28 should win. The only way I can see the Civic winning is if the 2.73 geared auto Z28 is stock, and the Civic Si has all bolt ons, and Hondata or some similar device. Even then the Si would have to be driven perfectly. I drive a honda, love it. I had a 1995 firebird formula, theres no comparison

  4. I'm positive the Camaro will win.  Unless the Civic is turbo'd it doesnt stand a chance.  To the comment below me, its VTEC (no H) not like the phone company.  And that to begin with the civic runs a high 14 second 1/4 mile proffesionally driven vs. the camaro that runs a low 14 second 1/4 mile proffesionally driven.  Civic stands no chance.

  5. Is it a straight drag... the Z28 only has a chance if its a straight drag and it never goes past a 1/4 mile... what will happen is the Z28s much higher torque will pull it way ahead off the line and about 1/8th the civic will start walking right up to the Z28 being its a MUCH lighter car that revs up to almost 9000rpm as opposed to the Z28s barely toping 5000. Coupled with a close ratioed 6 speed and an insanely flat torque curve [no matter how low it is its the same all the way through the RPM range] it will be a close race, closer than your brother thinks with his Z28. 20 more ft/lbs of torque in the civic will cause it to win... so very little work will have to be done to the civic to catch it up.

  6. well the new civic si come with v-tech engines, (197-hp, 2.0-Liter K20Z3 engine), but since your cousin has upgrade, I think it has a chance if the civic has some upgrades to it. Imean come on 197hp vs a 275hp car?

  7. if it is straight line, which it probably is the camaro will win hands down, but the civic could eat it up on twisty roads, also depends on if the camaro is an auto

    camaro stock 0 to 60 5.7 seconds

civic si stock 0 to 60 6.6 seconds

  8. my boyfriend drives a 94 red z28 camaro and he just does enough work to keep it running.  he could beat any car any day bc that thing will get up and go fast:)  he has even raced it once on an old country road and won over an 05 mustang!!! hahaha
