ok i see that amare gets payed like 15 mil for 3 years. So does that mean he gets 5 mil every year with the suns or 15 mil every year? i am a big time fan just never understood the situation

he actually gets paid  13,762,775 per year he signed a  five-year, $73 million contract in 2005 but The contract extension  began in the 2006-07 season hope this helps

the way nba contracts work is that they start off with less than the 'per year' number, but towards the end of the contract, they get more.  it usually works at a 5-10% rate, depending on the negotiations, but it's why you hear players like A.I getting 17, 18, 19, 20 million dollars for his contract (avg like 18 million a year)
