Ok for 19 month old to play with p***s?

My lil boy loves to take off his diaper and just poke around down there- it also helps him SLEEP LMAO!! I was wondering if we should limit his peeny playtime or is this normal? it seems to really relax him ha ha ha. this is not a joke i just think its hilarious :)

It's his, it's normal, let him play. As long as he's not doing it in 'inappropriate' places then you shouldn't worry. Even big boys play with their bits and pieces.

its norm . Its just something thats cuming out of his body that he wants to know what it is . But if he is doing to way to much u need to stop him or he will start masterbating wen he is 2 haha not good

my son does it ALL the time and he's 16 months. the only problem i have with it is that he has to sleep in only a diaper or he'll get too hot and every time he takes it out of the diaper andd he'll pee on the bed. it's not a badd thing really they just kinnda realize they have it and donn't really know what it's for but they know it's theirs. i try not to tell him no about it because i dont want him to feel ashamedd of it or make him feel like it's a bad dthing to do

Its completely normal...my pediatrician says that its a self soothing mechanism for them and completely normal. I wouldnt act like its a huge deal, my son did the same thing and he grew out of it pretty soon after he turned two.

It is normal and healthy for a child that age to explore his body--but you want to be careful to teach him that he is only allowed to do that when he is in his bed by himself...otherwise, you might look up from trying on a pair of shoes at the local department store, and find him putting on a floor show for the world to see!

BTW, it is also very important that you not laugh and make him think he is doing something that amuses you...he needs to know it is something that is OK, but done when he is by himself...you also, when he's a little older, begin to let him know that no one else (other than for cleaning after a diaper change) should be touching his p***s.

I'll never forget the first time my son looked down there... His face lit up like "omg! new toy!"

My ex joked about how "the fascination with it NEVER ends!"

I think all little boys just want to play with it constantly once they discover something's down there. It's new to them. They don't really know what it is.. just that it's there.

But it's completely natural and part of the self-exploration that all children go through =)
