  1. Its not your responsiblity to keep kids entertained im sure there will be alot of things going on that will keep them occupied.plus that will save you money-not having to buy c**p to keep em entertained

  2. While considering having children at my own wedding I came across several websites which sell children's activity bags and these looked quite good.  They were arranged in sets of age  eg packs for 5-7yr olds etc.  They included colouring books, cameras, puzzles etc.

Also thinking about the computer age and entertainment, videos and wii games could be interesting.

  3. By doing this you would be risking having other adults hang out in the other room vs. your wedding party!

I wanted to do the same thing however i opted instead to give the kids their own table and their centerpieces will be markers, candy, crafts, bubbles...etc.

  4. maybe hiring a clown or a magic act  to entertain the children.

  5. hi, first congratulations for the big day. Now i conducted my brothers wedding, and for the children he got in touch with the local children's play centre and hired two of the workers there that brought along different games and toys. as this is there job anyway they were brilliant. and for the older children he got a magician that was also a clown that made balloons and mines. every child had a great time, even us adults. Hope that helps you and have a fantastic day.

  6. Go with army mom... you probably really don't want to have to budget for a magician or a clown, as they can tend to be pretty pricey unless you have someone you know really well who could cut you a deal, but chances are if you know them that well, you'd probably want them to just come to your wedding and enjoy themselves. I thought about doing a kids' table before I found out that my first and second choice reception sites both had playgrounds practically right beside them. Coloring books, crayons, maybe some of those color wonder markers and stuff for the real little ones (awesome...NO MESS!!), puzzles, bubbles, maybe some of those activity books for the older ones, and plenty of blank paper. Oh, and disposable cameras too...it may sound weird, but my friend had a kids table with them on it, and the kids' pictures came out better than some of the pictures taken by adults....

  7. Mosy of my ideas would be the same as Army Mom's.  I'm planning to have a small area (not very many kids at our wedding) with coloring books, bubbles, small toys....from Oriental Trading...every bride needs this catalog...LOL)

  8. As a teacher, I can tell you that children have very short attention spans...how long is your reception?  3-4 hours?  I cannot think of anything in the whole wide world that would keep a bunch of kids of different ages entertained for the duration of a reception.  Sorry.

We were just married two weekends ago.  I didn't worry about entertaining the children.  Their parents are responsible for keeping them behaving!  The children at our wedding danced for almost the entire evening...when they got tired, they sat.  Don't worry about it!

  9. A huge craft box, full of glitter pens, pencils, crayons, colouring books, make your own wedding hat, streamers, stickers, ribbons, lace, you name it chuck it in and let them get crafty.  They'll love it.

  10. I AGREE WITH ARMY MOM!!  Pick her for best answer she is completly right!

  11. You can go on www.orientaltrading.com and they do sell kids things to do for weddings, like wedding coloring books, little crafts at the table for them to do. Have a separate table for them to enjoy themselves. At my sons wedding, we also had the food table for the kids only, they had chicken nuggets, french fries, pizza squares...etc.

I don't think you want to go with clowns or a magician at your wedding, that's for birthday parties. This is your wedding. find things that will keep them busy and not cause disruption during your toasts or your first dance. All eyes should be on you and not distracted by the kids. Parents will be distracted by the kids laughter during the important parts of your wedding. Quiet crafts that the kids will enjoy making and get to bring them home will be so much better. You can hire someone to keep them busy. Parents will  greatly appreciate that.

  12. Book a children's entertainer for the day.

  13. Hire a good Magician to put a magic show on for the kids. My cousin did this and the kids loved it. Good Luck.

  14. a child's entertainer,

    etc magician,

    something like that. :)
