  1. When keeping two aggressive fish together, like the Gouramis you chose, you shouldn't add them on separate days.  This allows one to claim the tank, and forces the other to intrude.  Start by entirely redecorating the tank, as this will clear all territorial boundaries the Blue Gourami set, allowing the Moonlight to establish itself.  You should see them set up their own territories, and while there may be minor skirmishes, nothing severe will occur.  If they're still fighting after a week, you either need to separate them or get a bigger tank (it should already be 40+ gallons).

  2. Did you s*x your gourami before buying them?

Males are territorial, so you can't have two in the same tank without a fight, probably to the death. The dorsal fin on a male is bigger and longer than a females.

Might also be that the two colours don't mix.

I would take one back to the store as soon as possible and swap for one the same colour and opposite s*x of the one you are keeping. Definitely you need a male and female to make it work.
