Question:

Ok i had a minor problem with my ps3 so i tried to restore it and my power went off and now ?

when i turn it on it says corrupt data and i have to restore..... and when its complete it goes back to that corrupt data and i have to restore...well it tried it like 15 times and it still keeps going back.....IDK what to do ????

  1. It sounds like your hard drive just bit the dust. If you're still under warranty you can call Sony up and try to get it replaced. They will probably take your whole PS3 though, so you'll be without it for a couple of weeks. If it's out of warranty, or they won't fix it, or you don't want to wait, you can buy a new hard drive for pretty cheap.

    You can use almost any 2.5 inch 5400 rpm SATA laptop hard drive as a replacement. You can even use this opportunity to upgrade to a larger one, so you never have to worry about space. A good place for HDD's online is http://www.newegg.com .

    If you decide to call Sony, just tell them you think you're HDD died, don't tell them it was you're power going out that did it (I don't think they'll cover it if it was caused by something like that).
