Question:

Ok. i have until February 2009 to run the 800 in track in 2:50.what do i need to do until then?

right now my best time is 3:20 and i will be a 7th grade girl next year.

  1. Keep practicing. Also try doing some aerobics or swimming, cycling. This will strengthen your legs and improve your endurance. It will also improve your fitness level. What I've suggested is called cross-training. Elite athletes do it as well.

    Also try going on longer runs. This way you will not be as worried about your time for the 800. Again it will also improve your endurance and fitness level.


  2. Hard work outs. you have to build endurance and speed.

    I recommend doing a pyramid, but its going to hurt. do 3 200m, 2 400m, and 1 800m and back down, though at race pace and like 2-3 minutes of recovery. Or you can run like 8 200m at race pace for endurance. though no recovery time just run a 200 then slow jog a 200.
