Ok i know that you can't use cell phones on airplanes...?

Yes it's on the back of the remote for changing channels and playing games.

It depends on the airline.  Many overseas carriers have them, but most US carriers got rid of them several years ago when passengers stopped using them for the most part.  And actually, a select few companies (nearly all overseas) allow cell phone use on board, and if not for talking, for sending texts/checking e-mail/etc.

Some planes still have those phones in the back of seat in front of you.  They are very expensive to use.

Most US carriers do not even have them anymore, though.
