Ok i need a new drink? ?

i drink captain and coke but im getting tired of it, anything with vodka is out of the question. Im looking for something in the same price range

Depends what you're looking for, really, and what occasion.

I've switched to wines from time to time, but I like the spirits too.

Rum(you mention the Captain. One of my favourites), whiskey(scotch or bourbon), tequila, vodka, some of the Asian spirits like Soju and Shochu(I live in Japan).

I tried Mai Tai once. It's a rum-based drink, sometimes with overproof rum, if you still like a rum base. It wasn't bad.

What was my point? Oh yeah. My point is, really, you're going to have to experiment for yourself. That's the fun part.

But I recommend scotch, tequila, rum, bourbon as my base spirits, either straight or mixed. If you've walked rum dry, so to speak, try others and, in the end, have fun!

This may be completely wrong, but I'd say change it up and go with some Southern Comfort. It's a peach whiskey type taste, and it almost tastes a bit like candy. I feel that Captain Morgan alone has a small sweetness to it, and the coke just makes it that much more sugary.

Try Soco & Lime, or Soco & Cola.

Fill glass w/ ice

1 1/2 oz soco, top w/ cola, rim w/ a lime and you're good to go. =]

i went to a pub and had lemonade with a dash of coke it is really nice

jim beam if you are looking for something in the same price range. I prefer Jack daniels over jim but jim is so much cheaper so i usually settle for jim

and i used to drink captain religiously...needed something new so i moved onto whiskey. I think you'll like the change

Well there are many ways of achieving the same money result and not having vodka ..Theres a great little place called Boutique Grafton Wines in Auckland that has such buzzey ways of new cocktails and mixers that keep you having fun and experimenting with not only captain but spiced rums,mulled rums and the big guy in there nows his stuff .and they like to invent taste ideas
