  1. How about a Clown Loach? They have great color, will help keep the tank clean & get along with everyone. Or in one of our mellow tanks we also have some Barbs, we have Albino, Tiger and Green. If you want color the Green Barbs are a pretty cool fish, they get along well with others, & they are active. I don't have any but Cherry barbs would also work. I don't know what size of fish you want but in a 50 gal you could get a few Barbs as they are not that big & like to be in groups anyway. Or you could get a Red-tailed Shark, despite the name "shark" they really are okay with mellow fish, we have one in our Tetra tank. And if you are okay with tiny fish get a handfullof Glo-fish. Good luck, hope this helped!

  2. I think that describes a Discus but you need previous fishkeeping experience to keep those. Tinfoil Barbs get big and are vegetarians but are silver colored.

  3. you can try angel fishes theyre very graceful and peaceful.

    EDIT

    a rainbow fish?!!!! a kribensis???!!!!

  4. even though they dont move much during the daytime cory cats look pretty cool. they only get 3 inches long and dont school. they are very peaceful.

  5. neon tetras. youcan find them at petco i went to get a betta fish and i saw a neon tetra they arevery bright and colorful. i would recomend them plus they are cheap and a descent size so u can get a couple of them

  6. Pearl or blue gouramis.

They dont school and are relatively peaceful species of gourami and get to a decent size.  Blues get to around 5inchs or so while pearls are a little smaller.  Pearls are a little less territorial than blues but both these guys generally keep to themselves and dont harass other fish.

  7. Oscars..just one. Have so much personality

I enjoyed mine for 8 yrs. He was in a 55 gal tank by himself ..still miss that stupid fish.

  8. definitely NOT an oscar, way to small for it

as for a 50 gallon you have some choices at hand

you could keep a pair of kribensis as well as a pair of blue rams in there with other schooling fish

as well as bristlenose plecos for the bottom
