First of all make yourself a check list...

Think about all the things you use at home in a months time...toothpaste, toothbrush, extra contact lenses and solution and back up glasses, and if you're a woman be sure to pack extra supplies (know what I mean).

Take along a change of cool weather clothing...yes it does get cool during the summer....I live in St. Louis where the mid summer weather can go from typically hot and incredibly humid to sweater-cool in a few hours.  I've been to DC in August and it's no different.

Don't forget a camera!
