  1. well i think that if the person that was bleeding don't have such things like aid then i think that they should be safe or at least they are out of the danger zone. and also you can get aids like that so they should be tested just in case. because aids you can get from any blood connection to a cut or opening. -chaos-

  2. There are several blood-borne diseases such as AIDS and Hepatitis C that can have devastating effects on people, and which could potentially be transmitted this way.  I have a friend who's husband works in an emergency room, and he wound up covered in blood while treating an HIV+ gunshot victim.  His wife was incredibly stressed out about the whole thing, because she doesn't want her husband to get sick.  I think a lot of the concern for the paramedic also comes from the fact that he was trying to help this guy, and the guy put him at risk.  No one wants to see a good samaritan treated this way.  It's beyond rude to spit blood on someone who's trying to treat you.

  3. well the person could have an STD or any other disease that can be spread through blood, which is alot.

can i have a link to this news story?

  4. the paramedic should have been wearing eye protection.

  5. HIV is transmitted through bodily fluids.
