With 0 gauge running it then putting a 200 amp alternator in my f150 extended cab with the backseat out and build a custom ported box. Let me know if i need to add anything i missed. And your opinion about the setup. Thanks Jon

  1. you need a giant sized box for a 18" sub...good luck!

  2. yea should be good, but due pay attention at the amount of subwoofers ull be getting and the ohm load you will be choosing for the subs.

the BTL's come in 1 ohm dvc, and 2 ohm dvc.

also, with added options, you can get more power into the subwoofers with no damage.

another thing, if you will be using them alot, get the "daily" option. the "SPL" option is only for "burps", this means they can take more watts but for a short time for competitions only at a certain frequency.

personally, for the ported box, i like 28-32Hz tune on it, can get very loud with all the low frequencys and still have good sound quality (since the BTL is all-out SPL and not SQ)

remember to do the Big3 wire upgrade, use 1/0 gauge wire all around. i use 8 gauge on teh speaker terminals on builds over 1600watts rms. better current flow and looks nice.

dont mount the amp on the sub box. cus the vibrations will travel to the amp and might cause internal damage to the amp over time.

setup will be great man, ull def. love it if the box is done right with no leaks.

another thing, go easy on the sub at first for a week. so it "breaks-in". this means the subwoofer becomes a lil softer and will perform at its max and will be able to take more power.

last, dont be scared about installing the sub. the first time (if the sub is new) there will be no visible holes to mount it (from the top).

there is going to be part of the surround of the cone over the mounting holes. so ull have to flip the subwoofer and poke through the holes that are on the back.

dont be scared of punching through it.

    **EDIT**

the "Universal" option is to be able to change the ohm load of each coil later on. for example... if you get the 2ohm dvc ... you can later get it reconed to a 1 ohm dvc.

but this will reduce the rms watts the subs can take... but its a cool feature to have if you plan on later adding another 18 inch sub to the build.
