Ok ive heard many rumors but can you use guitar hero 3 guitars on rockband for 360?

I want to buy one but i need to know if it will work on rockband

i belive you could cuz you can like use a guitar hero 2 guitar on guitar hero 3  but i heard from ohters that you can but i am not for sure cuz i dont have any guitar hero nor do i have rockband

my cousin says it does but i have not seen it so i wouldnt trust that rumor

because the guitar hero 3 is expensiv and so i rockband so i would ask the xbox ppl
