  1. Either wipe your hard drive and install vista. Or if your files are still there then get another hard drive and install vista onto that, then transfer your files onto the new hard drive.

  2. Yes you can, but installing vista on a pc thats originally xp will make it go a bit slower then it used to =) it will remove everything in it

  3. Well, it will replace XP with Vista, and remove all of your files. If you have less than 2 GB of RAM, I would suggest reinstalling XP instead.

  4. If you want to upgrade your OS to vista, you can visit the official microsoft site and check whether your system is compatible with vista.  As to installing it, you need to reformat your pc.

  5. I don't really recommend vista and just because you install vista doesn't mean it will fix all your problems. If it's old yes you need a new one. If not you can reinstall xp from scratch and install virus protectors like avg free edition.

  6. give up on windows and get a mac

but if you want to stick with windows, yes, you can install vista over top of XP and it won't make any difference (it might run a little slower than if you did a clean install)

  7. Get one of these anti-virus listed below. All these anti-virus work very well, they are the leaders in the current market.

    Kaspersky anti-virus:

  8. well it all depends how old your machine is... if it is pretty old.. you might need and upgrade on RAM or a better processor ...it might just be wiser to upgrade to a new computer

  9. Get rid of the virus first.

Install vista anly if your computer is capable of running vista.  Remember XP can run on 256mb of memory, a ten Gb harddrive,  and with a PII processor ....Vista cannot!  It is huge operating system and takes lots of HD space to run, in addition to  tons of memory.
