Ok my plant has mushroom in it. actual mushrooms!! do i need to repot it???

OI so I have the palm tree like plant and the other day I noticed something on it, there were mushrooms like real live mushrooms not fungus but almost like tiny portabellos. So help PLEASEE!

  1. Well, as far as I know all mushrooms are fungi but what you are probably thinking of is marketable ones like portabella or morelles.

    I would repot your palm-tree like plant.  And dry out the soil.  The shroom growing is indicative of too much moisture or some kind of decaying matter that may not be beneficial to the host plant.


  2. Thats normal.  The mulch or composet in the pot is decaying.  If you are worried about your kids or pets just pick them and throw them away.

  3. you are over watering, let plants dry out between watering.no just pull them out and wash hands let soil dry out.

  4. Mushrooms usually grow when conditions are too wet.  Make sure the pot has good drainage and try to dry it out some.

  5. not harmful to the plant at all. do they look like the ones on this website? if so this page also gives a little more info on the mushrooms.
