Ok my uncle just bought some new speakers ?

and there 800 watts will his amp blow them the amp is in the 1000 watt range its a kenwood and his speakers are volfenhug what will i have to set the amp to so i he doesent blow them.

  1. I doubt that Kenwood amp is 1 ohm stable, so be sure to wire them at 4 ohm.  ...That is guessing that the Volfenhag subs are 4 ohm dual voice coil (DVC).  

    (You can only wire two DVC subs to 1 or 4 ohm, and two single voice coil subs to 2 or 8 ohm.) (There is no way to reach a 2 ohm load w/ Two 4 ohm DVC's, so if your amp says it gives the most power in 2 ohm, there's nothing you can do.)

    Other than that, just be careful for 2 reasons...

    ..Those particular subs are aluminum and can sound fairly nice, but the voice coils are sorta weak. Just be easy on them for the beginning hours of installing them if they are brand new.

    ..And secondly, they should be fine on that amp - but also watch that. It is your preference on how much power you put to them. Both products are slightly overrated, and if your amp says it gives the Peak power at 2 ohm, but your wiring the subs at 4 ohm, you should be completely fine!
