Ok now in pool?

Question

why is it that when someone asks u wat u do for a living and you tell them ur a pool player they dont believe you ! i am i play with the best but no one wants to believe !!! any opinions

People find it hard to believe that anyone could actually make a living at it.....I assume that you do.....somehow, I do not however place you as a hustler, so why would you want to hide anything.....assume you are in a tournament.....of course I am not into the heavy betting that might be going on the side that a "banker" might be able to make on you the appearence of a weak game........but generally speaking, people just don not believe that someone actually would do that for a living and make a living at it!!

Johnny's right. If you can't back up your brag... better have deep pockets loaded with plenty of green-backs. I know a lot of players who will get in line to play you... and some will even send a cab.

Because you dont make a living playing pool, and probally nobody has ever heard of you, if you were someone you wouldnt need to ask our approval or care about our opinion, when I see you playing against someone and there is 8 grand sitting up on the light I will believe you then, I have be with many pros and only a couple make any cash and that all because they gamble alot and play anyone, it often means giving the 4 out to some half assed punk like you.....

if you were really makin a living playin pool you wouldn't be tellin everyone .How are you gonna hustle or grab a money game when eveyone knows you can whip there asses.

Most think your bragging or( just dont belive you ) tell them you drive a truck it worked for me for 40 years I would drive an empty truck 500 miles just to play pool also down dress for the game is a good touch

Why does it matter if no one believes you?  Just go on with what you do best and forget about the stupid people in life.  I love pool and wish I could play better.  It's awesome that you are good enough to go pro.  Congrats!  Best of luck to you...

Consider yourself fortunate. Don't know but I've been trying for years not to be labeled a "player". However since I'm not and you are come to Tx. and offer an amatuer some weight.

Play with the best?  Are you saying that you can run over 300 balls in straight pool?  Can you hang with someone that has won every title there is to win?  Don't get  cocky.  I shoot everyday for at least 10 hours on a professional table and can run out many racks but would never say that I  am anywhere near the speed of the best  I even trained with a world champion..  If you can keep up with the speed of Mike Sigel, Jim Rempe, and Nick Varner then great for you and keep with it!
