  1. PEMDAS:

    (45x - 72 - 72x - 27) / (15)

    ( -27x - 99) / 15

    (-9/5)x - 33/5

  2. I'm going to guess you mean (15x^3-36x^2-72x-27) / (5x+3)

First, set it up like long division.  Look at 15x^3 and figure out, what do I have to multiply 5x by to get 15x^3?  You'd have to multiply it by 3x^2.  Write down 3x^2, multiply out (5x+3) by 3x^2 and write it underneath the 15x^3-36x^2.  Subtract.  You should come up with -45x^2.

                     3x^2

              ___________________

    (5x+3)  |(15x^3-36x^2-72x-27)

              15x^3+ 9x^2

    Subtract:

                   -45x^2

Drop down the 72x, just like you would if you were doing long division of numbers you drop down the next term.

                     3x^2

              ___________________

    (5x+3)  |(15x^3-36x^2-72x-27)

              15x^3+ 9x^2

    Subtract:

                   -45x^2-72x

What do you have to multiply 5x by to get -45x^2?  You'd have to multiply it by -9x.  Write -9x on top right after the 3x^2 and multiply (5x+3) by -9x, writing that underneath the -45x^2-72x.

                     3x^2- 9x

             ___________________

    (5x+3)  |(15x^3-36x^2-72x-27)

              15x^3+ 9x^2

    Subtract:

                   -45x^2-72x

                   -45x^2-27x

          Subtract:

                         -45x

    Drop down the -27

                     3x^2- 9x

             ___________________

    (5x+3)  |(15x^3-36x^2-72x-27)

              15x^3+ 9x^2

    Subtract:

                   -45x^2-72x

                   -45x^2-27x

          Subtract:

                         -45x-27

What would you have to multiply 5x by to get -45x?  By -9.  Multiply (5x+3) by -9 and write that down underneath the -45x-27.  Subtract and you're left with 0.  Good news! It divides out evenly. There's no remainder

    Final Answer:

                     3x^2- 9x- 9

             ___________________

    (5x+3)  |(15x^3-36x^2-72x-27)

              15x^3+ 9x^2

    Subtract:

                   -45x^2-72x

                   -45x^2-27x

          Subtract:

                         -45x-27

                         -45x-27

                Subtract:

                               0

    (15x^3-36x^2-72x-27) / (5x+3) = 3x^2- 9x- 9
