Ok... question about bra cup and strap sizes...?

I fill up an A cup very easily. I wear 32A. Sometimes the straps are a little small though. Is a 34A bigger cup size or just strap with the same exact cup? Or is it bigger cup and straps...or just cup?

I am pretty skinny.

  1. No, it doesn't vary with brands.  Some bra straps aren't long enough.  Has nothing to do with size.  The 32 is how big around you are.  The A is how big your b*****s are.

  2. 34A will only have bigger cups. Yeah, you're right. Brands might vary the sizes. I suggest you buy SORCI AGE by WACOAL.

  3. It gets a little bigger, just a little.  if u fill up the A cup easily,  then try and get a bigger size bra, just to see if maybe u could fit in that size.

  4. i think that the cup size stays pretty much the same.

the strap around your torso does get wider tho.

and the cup does to a guess get wider too i guess a little.

but if you want just a the straps bigger then get a 34A because it will be pretty much the same cup size. as long as its an A then your good.

  5. it's a bigger cup as well as bigger around the back.

    just get longer straps.

  6. Okay, listen. Every bra is measured the same, people who give you answers different than this one don't know what they are talking about.

The letters A,B,C, etc. refer to your CUP SIZE. This part of the bra size will only change as your b*****s get larger, not if you lose/gain weight.

The number 32 or 34 refers to your RIB SIZE, the area under your b*****s. If the strap around your ribs is too tight, then I would reccommend trying on a 34A.

The surest way to know your bra size is to get measured. Stores like Victoria's Secret offer measurement services. It may just be that the brand of bra you wear runs smaller than other brands.

    Good luck shopping =]

  7. Brands will vary but usually the number is just how wide you are.... the number will not make the cup bigger.

  8. i have the same problem i wear a 34b but the straps are always to big idk wat it is i think the straps are bigger and the cups

  9. The cup size is across the fullest part of your chest, the size [in your case the 32] is the size under your ribcage. If the band is still fitting OK then you won't need to go up a band size. In this case I don't think your gonna need new bras, I think what you're gonna need to do is change the bra strap which is pretty easy to do unless your wearing what my mum calls "little girl bras" which are the ones that don't have strap thing on. When you're trying to adjust your strap you get the buckle thing and pull that down to make it looser and up to make it tighter. As for the brand thing, the brand doesn't really make any difference, all bras work in same way

  10. Bigger strap.

    Sam cup.

  11. the number is the size of the strap but when then number increases the cup does also slightly

  12. the cup will be basicly the same size, its gonna be a bit bigger, but not by much.

your getting mixed answers cause some poeple dont know what there talking about lol

  13. the A is the cup size and the 32 is the measurement around your body at the bust line not the strap size the straps are on your shoulders and most are normally adjustable.. if it is tight around your body try going up to a 34A  you can also go to a bra shop and be measured to make sure you are wearing the right size.. jc penney does measuring too

  14. The numbers are the measurement around your body,  and the letters are the cup size.

So a 34A is bigger strap size, and the cup will be just a tad bigger, not too much though.

  15. It also depends on brands as well. 34A in the same brand has both bigger cup size and band size, but with a different brand it might be smaller or bigger. Although with a change of size that minimal, the cup size won't feel much bigger (the band will feel looser though) .

  16. 34A has a bigger cup. I'm not sure about the straps but most bras have adjustable straps.

  17. A 34A is the same cup size and just bigger straps. The number is the strap size and the letter is the cup size. So you could have a 42A and it would still have the same size cup that you wear, just really big straps.

  18. No a 34 A is not a larger cup. The number like 32 and 34 is the measure around the chest and the A is the cup size.

  19. The cup will be a tiny bit bigger. If you fill a 32a completely it should be fine, if you are close to not filling it then it might be a bit big. All bra brands fit a bit differently so just try a few on.

Something else you can try is getting a bra extender instead, they cost about $1.50 and just hook onto your bra where it latches.

  20. Cup sizes are in proportion to the band size. A 34A will be one size bigger in the cups than a 32A, as well as being one band size bigger. If you are pretty skinny then I very much doubt that you will need a 34 band size. The right band size should be your under-bust measurement rounded to the nearest even number, so a 34A is meant to fit someone with a 34" ribcage and a 35" bustline.

The standard measuring system that you often hear about, which requires you to add 4 or 5 inches to your under-bust measurement, does not work at all. It would put me at 34B or 34C, whereas I actually wear a 30F or 30FF.

80% of women wear the wrong size bra, so it's not surprising that you are getting contradicting advice. Most people who have responded to your question are clearly not experts, but are just repeating what they have heard. I suggest you read the links I have given below for more detailed advice on how to tell if your bra fits.

  21. It doesn't vary based on the brand. Those who are saying that it's a bigger cup size are correct.

If you wear a 32A but the band is too tight and the cup fits, then you should fit a 34AA cup. 32A has the same cup volume as a 28C, 30B, or 34AA. A 34A, then, is one cup size bigger than a 32A.

Like Zoggi said, though, if you are pretty skinny, then you aren't going to be in a 34. Your straps might be uncomfortable because you have them tightened too much (which means you need a smaller band); if it's your band that's uncomfortable, it might be because it's riding up your back and you're wearing it too high. I'm on the thin side of average, and I wear a 28, so I suggest you try some 30s and 28s. A 32A is, as I said, the same cup volume as a 30B or 28C. I suggest you try these on before going up in the band, as it seems likely that your bra is just too loose for you and thus poorly fitted elsewhere.
